Students love to study patterns. Using tiles the
students can develop patterns, explain how they are changing, and begin to
predict what other pictures will look like.

The activity will have students
 | build patterns, |
 | describe how they are changing geometrically, |
 | collect tables, |
 | describe how the tables are changing, |
 | graph the data, |
 | describe how the graph is changing, |
 | and then look for a relationship between the model, the
table, and the graph. |
 | Finally students will learn to write nth terms for each
pattern from what they have studied. |
