Student Evaluations of their year with
Geometry from 2000-2001
|
 |
| The teacher was always full of
energy and that encouraged me to learn. |
You where always willing to help
the students when they showed that they where not even trying |
In this class I learned the most
out of all my classes this year. |
| He never gave up on any of his
students no matter how low the grade |
I liked how you had very
interesting activities and fun projects. |
That you would try to make the
class fun while it was educational. |
| If you have Mr.Rahn it will be a
easy year and a lot of fun! |
I liked the fact that you wouldn't
just give us the answer to our questions but you'd relate our problems to
previous lessons. |
This class was cool!! |
| This course could be taught many
ways, but the methods that Mr. Rahn uses are excellently effective! Having
this website online helped alot with the learning process, to be able to
go online at home and review topics. The online quizzes were a GREAT
big help! |
Mr. Rahn has a love for what he
does, and it is very apparent. It is said that a student is lucky to
have one or two good teachers in his/her lifetime, a teacher that really
cares and is into what they preach, but Mr. Rahn definitely is one of
those teachers! He has inspired me to WANT to learn! Thank you, Mr Rahn. |
I have taken a lot away with me
this year, I never used to like math before, but now I have truly learned
how to apply math to my everyday life. I have discovered a thirst
for knowledge like never before, learning is no longer memorizing lists of
words, it's now important and I want to learn and attack everything I
learn with a positive mental attitude! |
| The teacher makes the student, Mr.
Rahn has the ability to change people and effect them in a positive way,
like no others. With his love for kids and love for what he does, he is
one of the teachers that really cares! When his AP students went for their
AP exams, one morning first period, he watched them until they got on the
bus and disappeared! He is like a father! He teaches his students to have
confidence in what they are learning, I am friends with one of the
AP students and she is so confident and in her knowledge because of Mr.
Rahn. Thank you again Mr. Rahn! And I like your style! |
His constant excitement in geometry
made it worthwhile! |
The class was great, really
informative and really worked the students to their full potential, which
I find, as a student, to be worthwhile. Why are we even here if we are not
going to put our all into it?! |
| He has great expectations about his
students....that is what gives him an edge over all other teachers. |
I was impressed with the methods of
teaching, as well as the modes of teaching, such as visual aides and
projects that made us work with our hands. |
This mathematics class was
certainly a shift from the stereotypical math classes of high school. It
was a very relaxed atmosphere, where the question why was emphasized more
than how. I would like to have Mr. Rahn again for my math classes in the
future. |
| Our math book this year was very
similar to how Mr. Rahn teaches. It allows the student to discover how and
why things happen in geometry. |
This class was good. The
teacher really got me to learn and made it fun it wasn't just sitting
around doing math work I got involved and able to understand what we were
doing in class. He was the best teacher I honestly ever had.
He was a lot different than other teachers and I wish that I can have him
again in other math courses in Southern and if not I hope that all his
other future students get to see what a great teacher he is-- like how I
saw him. |
Appreciate this course and it's
aspects, as you won't find another like it for awhile |
| The textbook was good because it
was made for students in their terms and not like those written by a
college professor--so the book made it easier to learn from |
The course was just sooooo much
fun, and I really liked working in groups!!!!!!!!! |
This class was really helpful
because it expanded my knowledge of geometry. We didn't just memorize
formulas, we actively learned how they worked through hands-on
activities. I was most impressed by the way Mr. Rahn really
got into what he was teaching. He made us know that he cared
about teaching us, and teaching us right. |
| The positive aspects of this course
were everything! There was nothing negative. I also liked how Mr. Rahn
helped us by not just giving us the answer, he made you work for it. Even
though this is frustrating, but in the long run I learn better that day |
What impressed me most
about Mr. Rahn was that he always had an activity that was interesting but
also taught the concepts needed. |
| Mr. Rahn was interesting and fun. I
liked the way he dressed didn't match, he was great in explaining in
details of geometry. He is the best math teacher i have ever had. i
learned a lot, and i understand math a lot more, he also made me like math
this year. He made all of his studentsHe was a great teacher. Unlike some
teachers he taught so you would understand it in a way that no other
teacher taught. feel wanted and feel smart. |
Mr. Rahn's class is the best. Lots
of activities are involved and you can pass if you try. I liked doing the
explorations online and online quizzes. It was good how we just didn't
learn formulas and conjectures. Mr. Rahn taught us a lot of stuff by
explaining the subject more.
|
This textbook was better than the
previous textbooks because it was easy to understand, other textbooks are
too technical. This textbook is kind of from a students point-of-veiw, it
uses words that students will understand. This book was also fun
--there were a lot of cool jokes in it. Like when we learned about
rotation and reflection. |
| I liked the variety of assessments
and the explorations that we had to do. I never had to do fun projects in
any of my other math classes so I liked them. |
The way Mr. Rahn taught
helped me understand everything in the course. He was one of the best
teachers I ever had. He let us figure things out instead of just plain old
telling us the answers. He made me like math a lot more than I used to. |
