1.  Discuss with your partner how you might break 

the strand of spaghetti into pieces so that a triangle is 

formed by connecting the pieces at their endpoints. 

2.  After you have discussed how to break the strand of spaghetti

into the pieces you thought about.  

  
3. Show you can make a triangle with the pieces.  (If your strategy was correct,

you should have a triangle formed. ) 

4. Compare your solution with the solution obtained 

by another group.  See if both groups have the same rule for breaking the spaghetti.
