You should recall how to find the union and
intersection of sets of numbers.
If X and Y are two given sets of numbers, then
the set of all numbers belonging to both X and
Y is denoted and is
called the INTERSECTION of X and Y;

the set of all numbers belonging to X or Y or
both is denoted and is
called the UNION of X and Y.
